Kitesurfing is a fun watersport, which is rather easy to learn. Still you should always learn it with the help of a professional kite school, and not by yourself or with some friend, to make sure you get the right gear and size of kite as well as professional advice at all times.
In our Kite School Hotstick Tarifa( since 1985), we offer you kitesurf lessons in reduced groups, semi private lessons and private lessons, as well as for the advanced kiters supervision and equipment rental.
With our experience of more than 13 years of teaching kitesurfing, we have developed our kitesurf lessons to the highest possible standard. Safety is of course always priority number one, but in our kite courses you will also advance fast and have fun learning how to kitesurf. We have combined the best of IKO, FAV and VDWS guidelines and adapted them to Tarifa´s different wind conditions, poniente and levante, to offer you the right equipment and exercices for the different situations.
Our kite instructors are all qualified, experienced and have been trained by us. They know the spots around Tarifa and its special conditions and like to teach and enjoy when you progress.
For a fast and safe progress, the kite equipment used is of course very important. Therefore we use the latest kites and bar systems available on the market, this year we rely again on RRD kites and Nobile boards. We provide in our kite lessons all the necessary gear, apart from kites, bars and boards, wetsuits, harnesses, life jackets and helmets.
We offer kite lessons every day, all year round and we always go to the most suitable spot. Our instructors can teach you in 8 languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic and Russian. Our kite students are from 8 years young until 70 years old, so almost everybody can learn kitesurfing!
You can choose between 3h and 4h per day in group and semi private lessons and between 2h and 3h in private lessons. For group lessons we recommend 4h per day, if you really want to learn kitesurfing. In our kite lessons, everything is included in the price: all the necessary equipment, third party liability and basic accident insurance( also the equipment is insured, if you brake something), free transfer from Tarifa to the beach, rescue boats( in the summer months) and an IKO card.
Choose the amount of days depending on how much you would like to progress. The kite lessons become cheaper by day, the more days you choose. If you decide to go on after you have finished your kite course, you can of course do extra days( which will be charged as the 1.day).
For the independent kiter we offer 2 different options, the supervision and the kite rental.
